About Us Mariner Advancement started developing our own WINDOWS based version of USCG exam prep software in 1999. We developed our own list of questions with the aid of licensed deck and engineer officers. In 2008 Mariner Advancements software was introduced to the head of the marine department in a state run school. With the help of the marine department head we revamped the question bank since many of the questions were obsolete from 1999.
