The MA application includes all questions for inland only and Great Lakes, Mate and Master 500 / 1600/ and unlimited tonnage. The software is organized so Inland Only can skip Great Lakes questions and Mates can skip Masters questions.

For Inland routes Rules of the Road module will be Inland and International unless the applicant requests the Inland module.
Inland Rules of the Road modules will result in a geographic COLREGS limitation on the applicants MMC.
This software links each Rules of the Road question to the Rules book page and highlights the rule that relates to each question. In addition, 510 pages of explanations have been created for the navigation problem subtopics and 128 pages of explanations for deck general - see list below.
We will continue to add more explanations as we work our way through the question banks. The four pdf file links below are samples of the explanations we are adding and are available here for your viewing or download.
Chart plotting instructional videos are provided, including: introduction to publications, introduction to chart tools, introduction to nautical charts, introduction to maneuvering board, course and speed made good, course to steer with set and drift and leeway, speed made good with time, running fix, and three complete fifteen question USCG chart plots (as a student would see on their actual USCG exam).
